The NEPAD/APRM Kenya Secretariat’s Risk Management team is currently undertaking a training program on risk management, aimed at fortifying the team’s abilities and ensure robust governance. The training, facilitated by the Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (PSASB), is designed to empower the team in identifying, analysing, evaluating, and treating potential risks within the Secretariat, to avert crisis management scenarios.

In his opening remarks, the Chief Executive Officer, NEPAD/APRM Kenya Secretariat, Amb. Dr. Samori Okwiya, emphasised the pivotal role of effective risk management within the Secretariat, given that her operations are multifaceted within diverse stakeholders.

The training focused on various aspects of risk management including the Identification of risks, analysis and evaluation, treatment and mitigation, monitoring and review risk management principles, risk management process, and the risk assessment components.

The ongoing training led by the PSASB is expected to equip the team with the necessary tools and knowledge to navigate potential risks effectively. Consequently, as the Secretariat advances in its risk management practices, it strengthens its overall capacity to fulfill its mandate and contribute positively to socio-economic development and good governance.
