In a bid to mobilise the participation and partnership of the private sector in the forthcoming 7th Programme of Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA) Week, the Chief Executive Officer, NEPAD / APRM Kenya Secretariat Amb. Dr Samori Okwiya paid a visit to the Chairman and Group CEO, Mombasa Cement, Mr. Bhadra Shah.

The two had a fruitful deliberation on enhancing the Public Private Partnership through collaborations on how to deliver a successful 7th PIDA Week, set to happen on February 28th to March 4th 2022 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.

Subsequently, the CEO Mombasa Cement Group Mr. Bhadra Shah affirmed his support to PIDA Week, citing that the initiative will succour and develop local Public Private Partners capabilities through joint ventures. Additionally, he noted that the partnership will create awareness of the Private Sectors in the country hence aid the achievement of their mandates.

The NEPAD/APRM Kenya Secretariat upholds the Public Private Partnerships especially in regard to the Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa, since Private Sectors play a major role in economic growth, increasing space for infrastructure development and poverty reduction.

The CEO was accompanied by; the Director APRM & Governance Mr. Peter Kimemia, Ag. Director, NEPAD Programmes, Mr. Erick Kiilu, Deputy Director Accounts, Ms. Miriam Naserian, Legal Officer, Ms. Hellen Muthoni, Special Assistant and Communication Officer to the CEO, Mr. Frankline Kaburu and Senior Programme Officer, Ms. Alice Kioko.
